Meet Christine

Christine Trejo-Monson R.N. L.Ac. MSOM - Founder of Acuworks LLC.

With a 30-year career as a Registered Nurse working in pediatrics and orthopedics before earning her Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Christine has a vast knowledge of Western and Eastern medicine and is comfortable working with patients with a variety of issues, disabilities, and illnesses.

She is knowledgeable, professional, caring, able to handle difficult cases, and recognizes that it is not uncommon for people to seek acupuncture as a last resort when Western medicine has left them frustrated, dissatisfied, in pain, and untrusting of medical providers.

Christine knows firsthand how important it is to feel heard, understand what options are available and what can be expected, and have good communication with one’s medical provider.  She can empathize with clients who are in pain, struggling, afraid, worn out, and in need of hope.

Christine invites you to schedule a consultation with her and learn how the healing benefits of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine can improve your health, release tension, and leave you feeling peaceful, calm, and present in your life so you can enjoy it to the fullest!

Outside of her practice, Christine enjoys being outdoors and near water, hiking, camping, roller skating, music, volunteering, traveling and spending time with her family, purple family, and friends having adventures and creating memories.  When not at work, you will likely find her at a soccer field, Prince event, Roller Derby bout or off the grid.

Having survived cancer in 2012, Christine understands how challenging it is to live with a serious illness and yet also sees having a brain tumor as a turning point in her life.
“When you are sick or injured, the illness becomes so much a part of you and a focus of your life that you begin to wear it as a badge or see it as your identities.  I had to work to separate myself from that belief and when I let go of the label, it allowed me to shift my focus and priorities.  Cancer doesn’t define me.  I define me.  I believe this is true whether the struggle is with cancer, addiction, mental health, chronic pain… A driving force of my work is to help people feel control over the medical conditions impacting them so they can choose what they want to focus on in their lives and not have the medical issue be the main focus of their days.”

Meet Robin

Robin Hedrick MA, NBC-HWC - Health and Wellness Coach

Robin is a national board-certified health and wellness coach (NBC-HWC) and is passionate about partnering alongside you through your personal wellness journey. As a health and wellness professional for over 30 years, she enjoys empowering others to recognize and tap into their own strengths and growth experiences. She listens with warmth and empathy while understanding that everyone is at a different starting place. She applies a holistic approach that includes nutrition, stress management, movement, mindfulness, and rest. Whether you want to improve your health and wellbeing or explore how to be the best version of yourself, she will support you in getting the results you want to achieve using evidence-based techniques, ongoing motivation, support, and accountability.

Her journey into integrative health and wellbeing began after realizing conventional medicine alone was not enough to manage a lifelong autoimmune condition. After finding healing through a more holistic lifestyle approach that included nutrition, stress management, mindfulness, and physical activity, she decided to attend the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy training program to further grow her knowledge and become a certified health coach. After becoming certified, she went on to take the national board exam for health coaching and is proud to carry that credential.

Robin has knowledge and experience working with perimenopause and postmenopausal changes, weight loss, addressing inflammation and gut health, and using a holistic lifestyle-change approach to support individuals challenged with autoimmune conditions, specifically Hashimoto’s.

Robin lives with her husband and two dogs in Forest Lake and has two adult children. She enjoys being in nature and taking the dogs for walks, yoga, gardening, biking, cooking, being anywhere near water, and spending time with her family.
