Meet Christine

Christine Trejo-Monson R.N. L.Ac. - Founder of Acuworks LLC.

With a 30-year career as a Registered Nurse working in pediatrics and orthopedics before earning her Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Christine has a vast knowledge of western and eastern medicine and is comfortable working with patients with a variety of issues, disabilities, and illnesses.

She is knowledgeable, professional, caring, able to handle difficult cases and recognizes that it is not uncommon for people to seek acupuncture as a last resort when western medicine has left them frustrated, dissatisfied, in pain and untrusting of medical providers.

Christine knows first hand how important it is to feel hear, understand what options are available and what can be expected, and to have good communication with one’s medical provider.  She can empathize with clients who are in pain, struggling, afraid, worn out, in need of hope.

Christine invites you to schedule a consultation with her and learn how the healing benefits of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine can improve your health, release tension, leave you feeling peaceful, calm and present in your life so you can enjoy it to the fullest!

Outside of her practice, Christine enjoys being outdoors and near water, hiking, camping, roller skating, music, volunteering, traveling and spending time with her family, purple family, and friends having adventures and creating memories.  When not at work, you will likely find her at a soccer field, Prince event, Roller Derby bout or off the grid.

Having survived cancer in 2012, Christine understands how challenging it is to live with a serious illness and yet also sees having a brain tumor as a turning point in her life.
“When you are sick or injured, the illness becomes so much a part of you and a focus of your life that you begin to wear it as a badge or see it as your identities.  I had to work to separate myself from that belief and when I let go of the label, it allowed me to shift my focus and priorities.  Cancer doesn’t define me.  I define me.  I believe this is true whether the struggle is with cancer, addiction, mental health, chronic pain… A driving force of my work is to help people feel control over the medical conditions impacting them so they can choose what they want to focus on in their lives and not have the medical issue be the main focus of their days.”
